Once upon a time there were 2 boys who lived in a small village. Let’s call them A & B for the ease of storytelling. A & B grew up in the same environment. There was lack of good education, difficult lives, lack of exposure and no sense of future.

A went with the flow, followed what others in the village did, complained about the lack of resources, never looked for knowledge nor thought of upgrading himself.

On the other hand, B would find avenues to learn new things, watch movies to explore beyond his village life.

He’d interact with people who had travelled in the village to get a perspective in life. Eventually he ended up enhancing his craft, building a business and living a happy and successful life.

You can go with A or B’s way of life.

• Read blog and articles
• Look up on youtube on what are the new trends

Soft skills

• Develop interpersonal skills

• Leadership skills

Take online courses. You could also look at YouTube for developing skills.

2. Create a strong online presence on linked-in. Start Working on Building Your Personal Brand

Evaluate your Social media Landscape: Do you know that recruiters also scan and consider your social media handles in their recruitment process? Take this time to work on the public view of your profile.

Show that you are tech savvy

Embrace LinkedIn

Make sure you have an updated LinkedIn profile and that you have a link to your résumé. Include information about your passions and future goals that you don’t have room for in a résumé.
